A plea for help!

Solent Education Business Partnership run events in schools for children to show them through fun events and tasks what it is like to run a business. Below is a list of up coming events that need business people to help share their expertise and steer the children in the right direction. It’s a fun day and you will get lots out of it! Place School/Venue Mountbatten, Eastleigh Whole day Plan Your Prom – Year 10
Whole year group participate in an enterprise challenge which allows them to apply their communication, teamwork, finance and business planning skills. 2 more Ambassadors Required

date 2 July
Place Springhill Primary, Southampton
Time approx – 13.30 – 15.00 Dragon’s Den – Year 6
Following the Year 6 Dragon’s Den project, ambassadors are invited in to judge the children’s pitches. 3 more needed

Date 5 July
Place Wildern, Eastleigh Whole day
Make Your Community Better – Year 9

Students work in teams to put together a public service announcement that tackles an issue in their local area which could include anti-social behavior, sexual health or recycling etc. 2 more needed

Date 11 July
Place Quilley School, Eastleigh
Time 8.30 – 14.00 Enterprise Challenge – Year 8

Students are tasked to promote a new ‘Soda Bar’ that targets 12-17 year olds and provides them with an alternative place to socialise. The students must create a marketing campaign to promote the Soda Bar to the target market. 1 more needed

Time Approx – 12.30 – 15.30 Eco Sale Event –Whole School

Over the last 3 months whole school has been working on a project to design a products using recycled materials.
Judges are required to select winners for various different categories. 5 more needed

Date 16 July

Time Whole day Night to Remember – Year 10

Students work in teams to put on a themed night for under 18s at a local nightclub, planning and organising the event. Business ambassadors attend to advise the students and assist them with the task. 4 more needed

Date 17 July
Place Sholing, Southampton
Time Whole day Save Our Planet – Year 10

This is an enterprise challenge similar to what the teams participate in the television programme ‘The Apprentice’. In groups the students are tasked to design a product that is environmentally friendly, create a prototype, make marketing material and then ‘sell’ orders to the business people. 4 more needed
