First up, New Media Age has a podcast interview discussing the future of the ‘social web’…
Though, exciting as it may sound, this isn’t as interesting as the spectacle of MPs on the make. Guido Fawkes has news that political insiders actually think politicians should be paid more, as the Treasury rakes in the windfall from the high cost of oil.
The First Post is equally as illuminating: apparently MPs cost £1 million a day despite having much less work to do than they once had. The Daily Mail is also noting that much disliked Commons Speaker Michael Martin is, meanwhile, looking forward to a £1.4 million pension for, err…
Over at the BBC, house prices are nosediving at a rate not seen since the last recession, and high food prices could be long term, according to the UN.
The Telegraph is equally as optimistic, with reports of a fullblown recession amongst consumers; though it seems the oil price bubble may be about to burst soon.
The Guardian says the BBC has been overspending on its web site to the tune of £36 million last year, while British Airways continues to batter its customers with yet another fuel surcharge.
And finally, The Times reports that the government is taking action against high fuel costs by encouraging more extraction from the North Sea, as inflation shoots up and knocks out any chance for a cut in interest rates.
