Winchester Business Excellence Awards Results Announced

The results of the 2008 RBS Small Business Excellence Awards have been announced.

The black tie event, which took place in Winchester’s Guildhall on the 6th of June, saw several major awards handed out, including a special lifetime achievement award.

The winner of this was city developer Mohammed Bakhaty, who received the Millenium Egg trophy for his efforts over the years.

Other winners included this year’s University of Winchester Entrepreneur of the Year Award Sara Hill; the eHampshire Online Business Award winner Avanquest Solutions and the recipient of the Dutton Gregory Solicitors Award of Excellence Through People, theatre company Wet Picnic, which was founded as part of the University of Winchester’s start-up scheme.

Coming first in the Royal Bank of Scotland Business of the Year award was Jeremy France Jewellers, while another UoW-backed start-up, SN Technologies, won the Hampshire Workspace Business Start-Up Award.

Winning the Mawson & Company Award for Service Excellence was Stable Close Equine Practice and finally, Marwell Conservation not only won the Winchester City Council Award for Green Innovation but also the Hampshire Country Council Rural Business of the Year Award.
