Starting at the BBC, house prices keep on falling while the markets are looking unhealthy too.

The Telegraph follows with news that local councils may be big losers as their banks go under, while the US Treasury Secretary predicts even more banks will soon fail.

Next, The Guardian says that the IMF has put together a nationalised.

Over at The Times, Ireland is extending its deposit guarentee to British banks as recruitment in the City plummets.

The Independent reports that the British economy is due a major recession, while the Government’s rearguard action may well redefine completely the nature of big business in the UK.

And finally, Guido Fawkes claims that the Tories have just stopped being the party of free market capitalism, as laws originally intended ‘only’ for use against terrorists are being used against an ailing Icelandic bank.
