Starting at the BBC, employers are voicing their fears over job creation as Asian markets rocket in the wake of a Chinese state spending spee.
The Telegraph has news that a thinktank wants VAT slashed, while town and city centres in the UK are reduced to ghost towns as the boom in studio flats turns to a glut.
Next, The Guardian reports that the Band of England is predicting a 1.5% fall in output, while 70,000 more banking jobs may also be doomed.
Meanwhile, The Times says that council house tenants may be chucked out of their houses in order to keep down waiting lists (sure beats building new ones!), as the fate of post offices across the land hang on who gets to run the Post Office card account.
Over at The Independent, there is conflict over bonuses at Barclays, and what’s left of the US car industry is passing the begging bowl.
And finally, StartUps.co.uk reports that networking amongst entrepreneurs is being pushed as the solution to the downturn, though keeping an eye out for insolvency helps too…
