Marcus & Tom Wedge founded The Gift of Creativity in 2010 to deliver excellent Pebeo Art and Craft Paints after full global careers. The transition came through setting up Lumecare to support patients with dry eyes and blepharitis. This stepping stone helped the duo to learn how to establish an internet based business from scratch while sticking to their original knowledge in eye care.

“We wanted to develop a business that had creative satisfaction and interesting customers built-in” says Marcus. “The breakthrough came when we realised that we could establish a world-beating business using our new internet skills and contacts by providing both outstanding service and generally unbeatable prices.” The strategy is simple – define a winnable niche and focus on our customers’ most important issues. In our case we work only with Pebeo paints for glass, china, silk and fabric painting alongside their excellent range of acrylic and oil paints and accessories. Fast service and unbeatable prices are our reasons for success and we aim to keep operating costs at a minimum while promoting ourselves competitively amongst the major brands and retailers.

Local partnerships include Wired Wessex member Tim Tavender of Mercury Online Marketing and the creative team at Winchester’s “The Colour Factory”. Marcus & Tom welcome constructive partners to meet and explore areas of mutual or reciprocal gain such as online marketing, artistic technique demonstration or even more mundane but important logistics, financial and employment issues.
