Nicola Davis founded My Personal Style, a Colour Me Beautiful image consultancy, in early 2011 after more than twenty years working in senior sales and recruitment roles for blue chip companies. By November 2011, My Personal Style was already recognised by Colour Me Beautiful as one of its “Top 100” image consultancies.

“People form opinions about us within 30 seconds of meeting, and 93% of their first impression is based on what we look like and our body language, with just 7% based on what we actually say. We therefore owe it to ourselves to ensure that we project an attractive and confident image. My Personal Style’s mission is to help people dress with confidence by showing them the colours, cuts and fabrics that most flatter their unique colouring and body shape.

At work we need to look professional, trustworthy and approachable. Outside of work most of us would like to look effortlessly stylish and attractive. My Personal Style shows clients how to build the formal and informal capsule wardrobes which will enable them to achieve this. Moreover, by investing wisely, we can actually spend less and wear more by avoiding costly mistakes”.

Initially Nicola offered her services only to women but she has recently started providing consultations for men too. “Men may not be that keen on clothes shopping but they do want to look good. A consultation with My Personal Style arms them with the knowledge they need to quickly choose the styles and colours that work well for them”.

As well as running My Personal Style, Nicola is a wife and mother of two teenagers. In the last couple of years she has gone from doing zero exercise to taking up ballet, contemporary dance and Pilates, which she sandwiches in between consultations and taking her children to piano, karate, badminton (6 times a week!) and fitness training.
